It seems just like yesterday when I couldn’t get enough of Twitter. I even had a widget on my personal blog where my Tweets were posted. I would use it every chance that I could get. Then I discovered Plurk.
As you may know, the concept is much the same. You post one-liners or two-liners and let the whole world know what you are up to, what you are thinking, or whatever you want others to know. Plurk has other features that make it more interesting, the user interface being one of them.
Naturally, the fact that you can use Plurk on your mobile phone makes it all the more convenient. One problem, though, is that the mobile version of Plurk has a lot of limitations. But did you know that there is a special Plurk application that you can use on your iPhone or iPod Touch? Dubbed the iPlurk, it gives you a better experience – a fuller one, if you wish – than the mobile version.
Some of iPlurk’s features include:
• Three timeline views: All, Unread and Private
• See avatars and display names
• Upload photos in your plurks and responses
• Inline viewing of embedded images
• Embedded web preview and YouTube viewing
• Fast and clean interface
But is iPlurk the perfect app? Not really. For one, you have to pay for it. This is negligible, though, as you only pay $0.99 for iPlurk. But then again, would you stick with iPlurk if Plurk itself was to create a free mobile app? For those who are still looking for a free Plurk app, one has been released and I think that it is much better than the iPlurk. Check it out yourself.
