ReadWriteWeb is reporting that Social Search Platform Company Mahalo is growing. This news comes as no suprise to me. First off Mahalo will do what Wikia can not do. If you aren’t familiar Wikia is Jimmy Wales, the founder of Wikipedia’s search engine platform which is also social in that users, and potentially companies, and businesses have influence over how search results get served up. Consider this search engine democracy.
I think the vast resources that Mahalo has backing it, plus the huge head start will allow Mahalo to be a bigger player in Social Search than Wikia ever could be. Also I dont see Wikia utilizing bloggers and the blogging community to reach out to the greater evangelising audience which is something that Mahalo has been really good at.
It will be interesting to see both of them grow regardless.
